HireMinds is representing an exciting new Bay Area client that is seeking your expertise.  As a Senior Research Associate you’ll join a team working in generative AI and synthetic biology. You’ll contribute to high-throughput biology through development of mammalian cell culture, molecular biology, and high-throughput screening methods. You’ll be successful in excelling with the execution of screening assays which will functionally test novel proteins for gene editing or similar approaches. You should also have comfort working with computational notebooks in data analysis. You’ll also be a foundational member of a new lab team and company working on cutting edge scientific advancements. You’ll Be Responsible For: 

  • Conducting High-throughput assay development and hands-on execution
  • Developing and executing high-throughput functional assays, mammalian cell culture, and molecular biology workflows to characterize and validate novel protein designs.
  • Development workflows for high-throughput wet- and dry-lab tools and deliver statistical results. 
  • Contribute to development and improvement of high-throughput screening platform.
  • Capture data in Detailed, accurate, and timely documentation of results and present analysis to peers and leadership team. 
  • You’ll be up-to-date on latest published developments in synthetic biology, generative AI, protein, and cell biology
  • Attend and present at industry conferences when called upon. 

You’ll Bring With You: 

  • Bachelor’s degree with 2 years of Industry experience  in molecular/cell biology, biochemistry, or a related field Or Master’s degree in molecular/cell biology, biochemistry, or a related field
  • Hands-on expertise in mammalian cell culture is required
  • Expertise in hands-on high throughput assay design and execution. 
  • Proficiency with data analysis and handling using R, JMP, SQL, and other software tools such as python and python notebooks.
  • Hands-on experience in molecular cloning, flow cytometry/FACS, and/or next-generation sequencing 
  • Experience in analyzing large amounts of data. Including exposure to LIMS, Benchling or similar tools, to manage samples and data from high-throughput experiments.
  • Desired experience with development of gene editing tools
  • Experience in Biotech setting helping build a lab and team culture would be valuable. 

Salary Range: $60-100k
