Senior Research Associate (High-throughput Biology)

HireMinds is representing an exciting new Bay Area client that is seeking your expertise.  As a Senior Research Associate you’ll join a team working in generative AI and synthetic biology. You’ll contribute to high-throughput biology through development of mammalian cell culture, molecular biology, and high-throughput screening methods. You’ll be successful in excelling with the execution of screening assays which will functionally test novel proteins for gene editing or similar approaches. You should in-depth experience as well in analyzing results/data and in working with computational notebooks in data capture. You’ll Be Responsible For: 

  • Data analysis with a high proficiency in data handling, analysis, and visualization using Python and R.
  • Contributing through knowledge of statistics for quantitative biology.
  • Hands-on experience in setting up and implementing analysis pipelines for NGS or/and flow cytometry data.
  • Conducting High-throughput assay development and hands-on execution
  • Developing and executing high-throughput functional assays, mammalian cell culture, and molecular biology workflows to characterize and validate novel protein designs.
  • Work with Protein Engineers/Synthetic biology team in developing gene editors.
  • Capture data in Detailed, accurate, and timely documentation of results and present analysis to peers and leadership team. 
  • You’ll be up-to-date on latest published developments in synthetic biology, generative AI, protein, and cell biology
  • Attend and present at industry conferences when called upon. 

You’ll Bring With You: 

  • Bachelor’s degree with 2 years of Industry experience  in molecular/cell biology, biochemistry, or a related field Or Master’s degree in molecular/cell biology, biochemistry, or a related field
  • Hands-on expertise in mammalian cell culture is required
  • Experience with development of gene editing tools, such as nucleases or integrases
  • Expertise in hands-on high throughput assay design and execution. 
  • Proficiency with data analysis and handling using Python, R, JMP, SQL, and other software tools such as python and python notebooks.
  • Hands-on experience in molecular cloning, flow cytometry/FACS, and/or next-generation sequencing 
  • Experience in analyzing large amounts of data. Including exposure to LIMS, Benchling or similar tools, to manage samples and data from high-throughput experiments.
  • Desired experience with development of gene editing tools
  • Experience in Biotech setting helping build a lab and team culture would be valuable. 

Salary Range: $75-1115k
