Our client, a NYC & Boston-based pre-clinical stage biotech pioneering small molecule medicines for targeted protein stabilization, is seeking a Scientist to join their expanding high-profile team. In this role, you will manage protein crystallography and structure determination efforts, work with the protein production/purification team, establish and manage collaborations with external partners (CROs), and work with the chemistry team to advance SAR and support drug discovery across the portfolio targeting rare diseases, cancer and immunological disorders.

You will:

  • Drive protein crystallography and structure determination efforts
  • Deliver detailed structure analysis and enable structure-guided drug design work
  • Develop and oversee collaborations with CROs performing crystallography and biophysical characterization of lead compound across projects
  • Partner with the protein production and purification team to generate crystallography grade protein reagents
  • Identify, evaluate, and manage external vendors or assay vendors and studies
  • Analyze, document and report data



  • Ph.D. in Protein Biochemistry, Structural Biology, or another relevant subject
  • Skilled in developing and executing X-ray crystallography and biophysical assays
  • Expertise in protein structure and function related to crystallization and biophysics
  • Experienced with protein-small molecule X-ray crystallography, SPR, ITC, DSF and other biophysical techniques
  • Experience developing, running, and interpreting X-ray crystallography data and biophysical characterizations of proteins and small molecules
  • Proficiency with protein construct design and expression and purification strategies using bacterial, insect, and mammalian hosts
  • Industry experience and involvement within drug discovery processes required
  • Strong publication record with proven track record of independently driving scientific projects of high quality
