  HireMinds is representing a well funded Bay Area Biotech company in their vector development team's growth. Our client is seeking your talents in purification of vectors and process/analytical development to guide their novel T-cell therapy products through the manufacturing pipeline. You will bring skills in vector development, cell culture, and bioprocessing in developing cell therapy and vector products. In helping the Sr. Director of the team you will lead from the bench, build, and mentor a group in Downstream vector production, purification, and develop . In this job you will be Responsible for: 

  • Developing, characterizing, and optimizing vector purification process for all stages of pipeline progression
  • Serve as technical leader of a team and work in collaboration with Upstream and Analytical teams in achieving timelines
  • Build a downstream vector team and help mentor Associates
  • Provide vector expertise in large purification applications 
  • Develop testing methods and analytical sampling plans and corresponding documentation
  • Ability to guide vector purification method transfer in technical transfers to CMO partners for high quality viral vector product deliverables

You Hold the Following Qualifications:

  • Ph.D. 5+ /MS 7+ years in chemical/biomedical engineering, biochemistry, or related fields with industrial experience in Pharmaceutical or Biotech settings
  • Chromatography expertise in design, operation, and method development required
  • Experience with lentiviral vectors preferred, but biologics products experience will be considered
  • Firm troubleshooting experience with chromatography and purification technologies including: affinity, size-exclusion, ion exchange, columns, HIC
  • Experience in AKTA systems (Unicorn software) method development
  • Hands-on success with filtration systems: depth filtration, tangential flow, microfiltration, etc.
  • Other analytical technologies required or preferred include: ELISA, qPCR, Octet, Luminex, MSD, SDS-PAGE, Western Blotting
