Senior/Principal RA, Cloning & Construct Development

Our client is a Series B gene therapy start-up in the suburbs of Boston/Cambridge with proprietary AAV IP born out of Harvard Medical.  Located in the suburbs just outside of Boston/Cambridge, they are well-funded and growing!
 
The main function of this role is to create and execute cloning strategies to generate constructs that express therapeutic proteins and microRNAs.  
 
Responsibilities include but are not limited to;
•  Ensure quality of constructs, as well as to create and execute cell-based assays to assess the function of therapeutic constructs
•  Hands-on laboratory based molecular techniques that may include plasmid cloning, DNA sequencing analysis, plasmid preparation, restriction digests, agarose gel electrophoresis, Gibson assembly
•  Developing and executing cell-based assays including cell culture and cell transfection, fluorescence-based readouts using plate readers or FACS, RNA/DNA extractions and qPCR/ddPCR, protein gels and Western blots

Qualified candidates will have a MS degree in Cell & Molecular Biology or related with 2+ years of industry experience or BS degree with 3-5+ years of industry experience.  Job level & title (Senior/Principal) will be commensurate with experience.    
 
Must be commutable to Waltham/Watertown area or able to relocate with limited assistance and able to work on-site in a lab based environment Monday through Friday.
