Our client is a cell and gene therapy technology company built to power the development of transformative cell and gene therapies today. We are looking for an innovative Senior Associate Scientist in Immunotherapy that can lead and execute experiments for our T cell platform. This role will serve a critical function in providing high-level laboratory support to characterize engineered human primary T cells. 

Here’s What You’ll Do:

  • The individual will work in the laboratory and be responsible for experimental execution and data analysis for research studies supporting experiments for the genetic modification of primary human T cells
  • Employ viral vector-based strategies to express chimeric antigen receptors (CARs) and T cell receptors (TCRs) in gene edited human T cells
  • Expansion and maintenance of gene modified human T cells
  • Independently characterize engineered T cells using standard immunological assays including flow cytometry, cytotoxicity and cytokine release
  • Develop methods for key in vitro and ex vivo assays
  • Contribute to experimental design and project direction
  • Compile and present research data to functional teams
  • Maintain a lab notebook and contribute to support documentation when necessary
  • Provide critical lab support while working in a collaborative team environment

Requirements:

  • BS/MS in Immunology, Molecular Biology or similar with 5+ years of post-degree research experience. Industry experience is a plus
  • Expertise in mammalian and T cell culture is essential
  • Strong preference for individuals with demonstrated knowledge of immune cell activation, cytotoxicity and other cellular-based assays to evaluate engineered human T cells
  • Understanding of safe lab practices and BSL requirements
  • Able to maintain written records in the form of laboratory notebooks (paper or electronic)
  • Excellent computer skills including experience including Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Graphpad Prism and FlowJo.
  • Highly adaptable and responsive, and committed to completing tasks in a timely fashion
  • Team player, ability to effectively collaborate in a team-focused, highly cross-functional matrix environment
  • Detailed oriented and outstanding organizational and communication skills (verbal and written)
