In this role you will bring hands-on experience with using viral genome for degradation and with preclinical models of respiratory viruses.You will guide projects focused on identifying and developing new strategies to treat and prevent current and future viral pandemics. Candidate Responsibilities: 

  • You will design and perform experiments using animal models to study host immunological responses
  • You will have experience in lab studies which involve handling a range of infectious agents (BSL-2/BSL-3) 
  • You will have excellent ability to manage external CRO partners in completion of in vivo studies
  • Maintain cell cultures, virus amplification/harvest and titration;
  • Perform Molecular biology techniques including: RT-PCR, western blotting, CRISPR techniques
  • Experience with cell lineage characterization using flow cytometry, confocal microscopy, and RNA analysis
  • You will collaborate with and guide virology strategy for the lab team

Candidate Requirements: 

  • Ph.D. Degree with 0-3 years expertise in virology, immunology, or pharmacology 
  • Expertise with in vivo models of respiratory viral infection. Specifically Corona viruses: SARS-CoV-2, SARS-CoV-1, MERS or influenza 
  • Exceptional teamwork and communication skills to work in an evolving work environment
  • Excellent scientific skills in experimentation, record-keeping, and both oral and written presentation
