Our client, a Boston-based pre-clinical stage biotech pioneering small molecule medicines for targeted protein stabilization, is seeking a Scientist, Biophysics to join their team. You will provide leadership in the biophysical characterization of protein-small molecule interactions to collaborate with the chemistry team to advance SAR and support drug discovery efforts across their portfolio. Successful candidates should be capable of conducting and critically analyzing screening, binding, and activity experiments independently.

You will:
- Perform hands-on SPR characterization of protein-small molecule interactions
- Participate in collaborations with external partners performing biophysical characterization of lead compounds across projects
- Communicate and collaborate across the company to build a deep pipeline of novel therapeutics addressing significant and long-standing medical needs
- Develop and run biophysical assays to decipher newly discovered hits’ target engagement, binding site, and mechanisms
- Proactively evaluate new technologies. Identify and manage external vendors or studies.
- Collaborate with protein sciences to generate reagents
Qualifications:
- PhD in Biochemistry, Biophysics, or related field
- 1-3+ years of industry experience
- At least two (2) years designing and executing SPR experiments
- Hands-on experience with additional biophysical techniques such as ITC, DSF, TSA, and other biophysical methods is required
- Ability to independently plan, execute, and analyze complex experiments
- Demonstrated ability to solve complex problems in biophysics and biochemistry
- Strong presentation and communication skills, both oral and written
