MPM NewCo is an exciting, fast-growing startup company in the development of novel, breakthrough therapeutics. We are looking for a motivated RA/SRA to join our Gene Editing/ Platform team.
As a Senior Research Associate in the Platform Innovation team, you will be primarily responsible for planning and executing cell-based screening assays to characterize and quantify gene editing events under the guidance of a Senior Scientist. If you are interested in being at the forefront of gene editing technology and developing your molecular biology skillset, this role is for you.
You will work on various key projects including:
• Supporting high-throughput, SOP-driven cell-based screening assays for quantifying gene editing efficiency • Working with teammates to design novel nucleic acid and protein components for gene editors tailored to specific editing challenges • Executing cell and molecular biology experiments using a variety of approaches including transfection, DNA extraction, PCR, Western blot, PAGE, flow cytometry • Troubleshooting and optimizing cell-based and biochemical screening assays in collaboration with colleagues • Accurately documenting project experiments in Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS) and Electronic Lab Notebook (ELN) • Author and review SOPs and other technical reports
About You: • MS in Molecular Biology, Biotechnology, or related field with 0-2 or more years of experience in an academic or industrial setting; BS with 2+ years of experience in related field • Experience with one or more of the following: mammalian cell culture, transfection, DNA extraction, PCR, Western blot • Knowledge of CRISPR technology and/or high-throughput sequencing • Detailed-oriented, independent problem-solver.
