In This Role You Will:

  • Work in the lab to develop assays to facilitate testing experimental hypothesis on novel platform
  • Testing studies using cultured cells employing a variety of cellular and molecular assay technologies (iPSC and HESC cell culture)
  • Hands-on contributions with techniques including plasmid design and generation, cell culture and cell line development using lentivirus, AAV, and CRISPR technologies
  • Perform cellular reporter assays to optimize the RNA modulation platform using flow cytometry, plate reader/plate-based assays (e.g., luciferase reporters), and NGS readouts
  • Actively participate in a dynamic and collaborative team focused on patient outcomes
  • Help to establish and follow detailed SOPs for lead finding and novel platform protocols

You Will Be Required to Bring:

  • Bachelor’s with 5+ years/ Master’s with 3+ years of research experience in cellular or molecular biology degree in biology in research or industry settings
  • Expertise in mammalian cell culture techniques such as antibiotic selection, clonal cell isolation, transfection, infection, virus preparation, and cell line generation
  • A variety of molecular biology techniques including cloning methods, qPCR, gel electrophoresis, bacterial culture, CRISPR-Cas methods
  • Research experience in genetic manipulation using CRISPR, shRNA, lentiviral/retroviral transduction or RNAi
  • A “Biotech mindset” and flexibility in implementing new strategies, cutting-edge technologies, and methods when faced with obstacles in executing platform technologies/studies
  • Ability to communicate best path forward strategies effectively with cross-functional teams and contribute to platform advancement
