To be successful in this role you’ll be an innovative and passionate drug hunter with a track-record of pharmaceutical accomplishments in small molecule chemistry design. You will work along side the Senior Director and colleagues on projects internally adding your chemistry expertise and develop and manage CRO relationships in outsourced chemistry program progression. You’ll Be Responsible For: 
•    Driving medicinal chemistry strategy in Hit-to-Lead through Development Candidate (DC) phases.
•    Serve as lead medicinal chemist on multidisciplinary drug discovery project teams and provide innovative insights on chemistry matters.
•    Design, implement, and execute medicinal chemistry strategies for RNA-drugging. 
•    Building relationships and management of external medicinal chemistry efforts at CROs. 
•    Collaborate effectively with the leadership team and other departments and functions to keep them aware of chemistry findings and updates on programs at team meetings. 
•    Inspire, direct, and manage internal/external scientific research teams, and move activities across multiple drug discovery programs forward in a timely manner, promoting a culture of integrity and scientific excellence

You’ll Bring With You: 
•    Ph.D. in Synthetic Organic Chemistry or Medicinal Chemistry with 6+ years of pharmaceutical drug discovery experience. Will consider candidates with MS with ~10 years of industry experience. 
•    A track record of scientific innovation and success in delivering pre-clinical development small molecule drug candidates. 
•    Published work in Peer-reviewed publications from scientific in related medicinal chemistry and drug discovery. 
•    Strong knowledge of structure-based drug design strategies. 
•    Ability to lead drug discovery teams and project with experience in hit identification to development candidates stages. 
•    Experience in successfully leading medicinal chemistry CRO activities in external projects. 
•    Ability to work in a growing biotech environment and help establish chemistry function and expertise as needs evolve.
