Principal Scientist, Cellular Models (Liver)

Our client is revolutionizing preclinical drug discovery with their advanced cell culture platforms!  

We are looking for a Principal Scientist with significant multidisciplinary expertise who will collaborate cross-functionally to help us advance our programs and push the boundaries of how drug discovery is done! The successful candidate is self-motivated and demonstrates exceptional communication, organizational, and leadership skills to work in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Design, plan, and manage cell-based assays and experiments according to program objectives

  • Define and adapt program goals based on experiment results

  • Evaluate, analyze and report experiment results

  • Manage team of scientists to deliver on program objectives

  • Stay abreast of the latest scientific understanding in project specific biology from target validation to clinical data

Requirements:

  • Advanced degree (MS or PhD) 

  • Significant industry experience in preclinical drug discovery 
  •  
  • Experience managing others and leading small teams
  • Expertise in primary and stem cell culture, angiogenesis, and liver biology

  • Experience with design, execution, and analysis of diverse cell biology and tissue engineering experiments

  • Experience with advanced microphysiological models or 3D culture systems

  • Proficiency in a broad range of cell-based assays and assay development

  • Proficiency in general molecular biology techniques

  • Proficiency with characterization and analytical techniques, including mechanical analysis of cells/tissue

  • Hands-on experience with fluorescence and confocal microscopy

  • Extensive experience documenting, analyzing, interpreting experimental data

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
