Principal Research Associate, Cell Therapy

Our Gene Therapy client here in Cambridge, MA is growing and looking to add a Principal Research Associate, Cell Therapy to their team!  This role will support the development of novel immune-oncology therapies for cancer and develop innovative cell-based anti-tumor strategies for cancer using gene editing and genetic engineering.   This role will serve a critical function in providing high-level laboratory support to project leads with a focus on both cell therapy process development. We are seeking a highly motivated and innovative principal research associate with the expertise on handling primary immune effector cells and scale-up processes to support the development of gene editing-based cell therapies. Other responsibilities include but not limited to: 

 

  • Design and execute experiments to optimize expansion and editing processes to manufacture gene-edited cell products at scale
  • Collaborate with different functional groups to develop and execute assays to characterize cell products
  • Support IND enabling studies and generate study reports
  • Analyze and present experimental data to laboratory staff and at larger program meetings
  • Share responsibility in maintaining lab equipment and reagent inventory
  • Management of external CRO’s

 

Requirements

  • B.S., M.S. in immunology, cell or molecular biology with 5+ years post-degree research experience
  • Experience in handling primary immune cell cultures and cell therapy process development required
  • Knowledge in multi-color flow cytometry and cell-based assays such as flow cytometric analysis of blood cells preferred
  • Experience in ex vivo gene-editing (CRISPR/Cas9) is a plus
  • Result-driven with excellent attention to details and ability to independently execute protocols
  • Experience troubleshooting assays, including consulting the available literature for potential precedent
