PCR Assay Development Scientist

Our Cell Therapy client is expanding and looking to add a PCR Assay Development Scientist to their Houston, TX team!  This role will support the development, characterization, and tech transfer of analytical assays (PCR) for their Immuno-Oncology Cell therapy products. Responsibilities of the role will include but not limited to: 

  • Execute experiments to assist in the development and implementation of assays to support product testing and process characterization
  • Assist in the testing and evaluation of new equipment and technologies for the characterization of drug product
  • Analyze data, prepare technical reports summarizing experimental results and present to larger cross-functional groups
  • Timely and thorough documentation and completion of electronic laboratory notebooks to meet program timelines
  • Author SOPs, test record, and qualification protocol documents in support of Method transfer to downstream functions
  • Lead junior associates in design and performance of experiments and related activities



  • Ph.D. degree in chemistry or biological sciences with 1-2 years’ experience, or Masters with equivalent 3-5 years’ experience (training in medical technology and related experience may also be considered)
  • Proven experience in analytical development that support the manufacture of biologics
  • Experience with flow cytometry or cell-based bioassays, ELISA, and PCR techniques
  • Excellent mammalian cell/tissue culture and sterile technique is required
  • Knowledgeable in viral based biologics and cell therapy
