Executive Writer

Our Metro West client is a $1B publicly traded global technology company that develops a range of products, all of which use artificial intelligence (AI) techniques.  We are hiring an Executive Writer who will report to the Head of Corporate Communications and be part of a small and mighty team.  This person will work closely with the CEO and members of the executive team.  This is a hybrid role.  We are looking for candidates who can come to the office a couple of days per week and work from home for the remainder.



In this role, you will lead the strategic planning, development and delivery of internal and external global communications and corporate culture initiatives. The ideal candidate is smart, talented and funny with a creative writing style and a strategic perspective on how to create value through exciting communications and events.  This person will need to have the ability to take their work seriously, but not themselves.



Here's what you will do

  • Develop and implement strategies and programs to communicate the company’s business objectives, culture and values to its employees and to external audiences.
  • Partner with executive management and other departments to plan, develop, implement and evaluate strategic internal global communications.
  • Write, edit, review and enhance internal global communication materials, including company emails/memos, company meetings, speeches, intranet, and newsletters.
  • Develop public relations and external communications, including company press releases and media relations, website content, corporate donations programs, and annual reports.
  • Lead a team of global cultural ambassadors to preserve and enhance the culture around the world through a variety of social events, celebrations and employee recognition programs.



Qualities we are looking for

  • Excellent creative writing and editing skills.
  • Demonstrated success working directly with Senior Management, including the ability to advise and coach on effective communication activities and plans.
  • Excellent verbal communications.
  • Detail-oriented, energetic, creative, pro-active, with ability to multi-task.
  • Track record of building strong relationships across geographical boundaries and with all levels of the organization.
  • Strong project management and budgeting skills.
  • Ability to distill complex information into simple messaging.
  • High degree of responsiveness with the ability to shift priorities quickly.
  • Excellent Microsoft office skills; HTML, Photoshop and SharePoint experience is strong plus.




  • 8+ years of experience in public relations and employee communications from a publicly traded technology company or an organization that is R&D or engineering focused.
  • Bachelor’s degree; Master’s degree preferred.
  • BONUS: Experience in comedy or sketch writing!
