Director or AD, Global Patient Advocacy

Our Cambridge, MA biopharma client is hiring an experienced Global Patient Advocacy professional.  The role can be at the AD or Director level, depending on experience.  It’s an especially exciting time to join the company.  Having launched their first product late in 2019, they are planning to launch for a different indication in the first half of 2020.  They have major readouts for several other phase 1 and 2 clinical studies.  With a global collaboration partner and a new R&D collaboration agreement with a different company, the potential for the company and for the advocacy role is huge.



Highlights of the role

  • Proactively manage and cultivate relationships with patient communities and advocacy groups globally
  • Serve as the key point of contact with advocacy stakeholders
  • Help advocacy groups develop, grow, and build capabilities
  • Be the voice of the patient
  • Build company awareness and bolster disease awareness
  • Educate internal colleagues on the patient perspective





  • 7+ years of patient advocacy experience from a pharma or biotech company
  • Familiarity with the R&D and regulatory processes, and commercial environment for pharmaceuticals
  • Solid understanding of the patient advocacy landscape and industry rules and regulations
  • Dedicated to a patient-first philosophy
  • Able to influence and engage a wide range of people
  • Thrives in a fast-paced environment where priorities shift rapidly
  • Exemplary communications skills – verbal, written, presentations
  • Collaborative and able to develop relationships with diverse groups of people rapidly
  • Willing to travel approximately 25% of the time based on patient community needs, some of which may involve weekends
  • Bachelor’s degree
