If you are experienced with leading industry teams and have a track record of advancing chemical matter into the clinic this is the role for you. You will help guide research chemistry with the VP of Research and provide insight to due diligence in assessing new projects. You will present results to cross-functional teams and mold the companies discovery portfolio in this critical role. In This Role You Will Be Responsible For:

  • Work with VP of Research to define key studies and execute programs in accordance within chemistry and cross-functional teams
  • Help build and develop a team of chemists that support the company’s vision
  • Develop drug pipeline from discovery to clinical phases and guide Organic and Medicinal Chemistry decision making
  • Assess drug targets of interest and devise chemistry lab and CRO activities
  • Keep company alerted to the latest related literature and advancements in drug discovery chemistry and foster innovation
  • Keep up-to-date on due diligence in related partnerships or potential in-licensing opportunities of relevance
  • Present key findings at top Chemistry scientific events and symposiums, look for publication opportunities, and relevant patent applications when identified

 

You Will Have the Following Requirements:

  • Ph.D. with 10+ years industry experience in Organic or Medicinal Chemistry
  • Strong background and knowledge in Chemistry with a proven track record of drug discovery
  • Proven track-record of clinically relevant drugs exhibiting your chemistry contributions
  • Experience in managing and mentoring chemistry teams and fostering growth among them
  • Expertise in structure based drug design and discovery principles
  • Ability to understand perspectives of peers in biology, pharmacology, DMPK, and clinical/regulatory functions and anticipate their needs
  • Strong communication abilities with presenting key findings to Key stake holders and colleagues
  • Adaptable to adjust with evolving biotech organization’s evolution and change environment
