Candidate Duties: 

  • You will establish a gene therapy team that is collaborative across the greater organization to execute on deliverables and Gene Therapy portfolio demands
  • Ability to Decipher study data and make critical go/no-go decisions for internal and external collaboration program progression
  • Devise and lead Gene Therapy therapeutic programs and corresponding technologies with scientific and business perspectives to provide the best in-house and external technical capabilities for teams to effectively deliver on projects
  • Build and maintain network external Academic and Biotechnology partnerships and guide technologies for successful Gene Therapy collaborations
  • Ability to guide discovery programs through product life-cycle with established study protocols and regulatory guidelines in mind
  • Responsibilities for budgeting and reporting to leadership and key stake holders
  • Effective communication across the scientific and business units to ensure successful product planning and progression of Gene Therapy projects
  • An ability to assess the Gene Therapy competitive landscape and appropriately prioritize company portfolio in the space

Candidate Requirements: 

  • Ph.D. degree in Gene Therapy, Virology, or related fields of study with 7+ years of industry experience and 5+ years of exhibited leadership
  • Expertise in Gene Therapy research including gene editing, gene repression, regulatable promoters, transgene engineering, viral or non-viral deliveries
  • Previous experience successfully leading an external collaboration with responsibilities for design and execution of Gene Therapy projects
  • Demonstrated ability of successful go/no-go decision making in your career history with examples of in-licensed programs
  • Ability to understand Research data needed for future regulatory filing with successful program progression into development
  • Ability to influence and guide the internal Gene Therapy decision makers 
  • A hunger for keeping your finger on the pulse of the space in digesting the latest from conferences, literature, and publications related to the Gene Therapy innovation
  • Ability to travel internationally when required and corresponding international collaboration demands are to be considered with this role
