The Role:

Our client is looking for an experienced scientist with a strong background in RNA process development and RNA biology to lead an RNA production team to support mRNA-based delivery for genome editing in mammalian systems. This is an exciting opportunity to grow leadership/management skills and help build a successful therapeutics company from an early stage.

Here’s What You’ll Do:

  • Plan and execute strategies for mRNA production for mammalian cell expression.
  • Establish standard protocols for research-scale mRNA production and purification.
  • Develop necessary quality control procedures with analytical methods and assays.
  • Establish product validation in mammalian systems for genome editing
  • Lead platform development for RNA process improvements and advancements.
  • Build a team and mentor junior staff
  • Collaborate closely with therapeutic teams to enable mRNA-based delivery for genome editing in mammalian systems

Requirements:

  • PhD in Molecular Biology, Bioengineering, Chemical Engineering, Biochemistry or a related field with 7+ years of directly related industrial experience.
  • A proven track record of production and purification of mRNA, including process development and scale-up.
  • In-depth understanding of RNA chemistry, enzymatic and chemical reactions, and standard analytical techniques for nucleic acids.
  • Track record of completing deliverables within specified timelines and experience with managing teams or individual contributors in industry.
  • Independently motivated, thinks outside the box, and good problem-solving ability.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Able to multi-task in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities.
