Associate Director, LNP Delivery

Principal Scientist/ Associate Director, LNP Delivery

Stealth mode biotechnology company working to develop a versatile RNA modulation platform to cure diseases of high unmet need. The core “RNA writing” technology is based on novel CRISPR-Cas systems that can precisely and efficiently engineer the transcriptome without permanent modification of the DNA genome. The ability to perturb and edit disease-causing RNA in a modular fashion enables tunable and durable therapeutic responses with safety profiles.

Position Overview:

We are seeking a highly motivated Associate Director/Principal Research Scientist of LNP Delivery.

This newly created role will be responsible for driving the development of lipid nanoparticle (LNP) delivery technology for our RNA writing platform, working in concert with the company’s Platform and Biology teams. In this role, this candidate will provide scientific strategies and execute LNP discovery and formulation, process development, and optimization for in vivo delivery of  CRISPR-Cas systems. The individual will be expected to help build and manage the LNP unit and will work closely with the executive team and scientific founders to drive forward the company’s delivery strategy.

The ideal candidate is drawn to a fast-moving organization and is excited to be an active builder of organizational strategy, culture, and teams. This person will have the opportunity to make significant contributions in our dynamic startup environment where self-driven, enthusiastic employees thrive.

  • Develop and lead the mRNA delivery platform by designing and optimizing LNP formulations, and work collaboratively with internal Platform and Biology teams
  • Supervise and lead a group of junior scientists and technicians to design and execute the experiments to identify best-in-class LNP formulations to drive rapid advancement of RNA-LNP candidate selection
  • Produce LNP formulations to support internal therapeutic programs
