Our client is a medical device and pharmaceutical Contract Research Organization in the suburbs of Boston.  They are expanding their Pathology Department to meet customer demand and are looking to hire multiple Pathology Technicians!  Come join a tight-knit team led by experienced Toxicologists and Pathologists as they grow and expand into other therapeutic areas.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to;
•   Necropsy and perfusion techniques, tissue specimen collection and labeling
•   Paraffin and resin tissue processing including embedding, sawing, grinding, microtomy, and slide staining  
•   Slide, tissue block, and data record generation and organization
•   Generate quality data in compliance with GLP guidelines and document deviations and incidents.
•   For more experienced candidates (Level III): development and implementation of immunohistochemistry (IHC), immunofluorescence (IF), and in-situ hybridization (ISH) assays.  Also, imaging cells and tissue samples using brightfield and fluorescence microscopy.

Qualified candidates will have an Associate's, Bachelor's, or Master's degree in a relevant Biological Sciences OR HT or HTL (ASCP) certification.  Biotechnology or Pharmaceutical industry experience not required to be considered.  Hiring Manager has ability to consider those in private clinical practice, Contract Research Organizations (CROs) or academia.  Must be authorized to work in the US indefinitely to be considered and must be commutable to the suburbs of Boston/Cambridge area or able to relocate with very limited assistance.

Experienced lab animal medicine role in surgical research facility is now open at one of the top biomedical research institutions in Boston! If you have a passion for working with animals in support of biomedical research in multiple fields like neuroscience, cardiology, oncology, rare disease, etc. and are looking to get your foot in the door with one of the best Lab Animal Medicine programs in New England, then you need to send a resume now before they fill this position. This position requires previous experience with anesthesia and surgical support.

The main function of this role is to provide technical assistance/support with anesthesia and surgical procedures for a variety of laboratory animals, mostly large animals like pigs, sheep, rabbits, etc.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Assist veterinarians or investigators in various surgeries and treatment protocols

• Prepare and sterilize surgery packs

• Administer medications and provide pre/peri/post-surgical monitoring

• Sanitation of the facilities and maintenance of associated sterile equipment.

Qualifications include but are not limited to:

• Associate's Degree or higher in Veterinary Science/Technology, Animal Science, or related field

• Minimum of 2+ years of related experience in clinical/private practice or research settings

• Ability to lift up to 50lbs with or without accommodations

• Certifications are a plus such as: ALAT, LAT, LATg, SRS, or SRT

Our client is a large research institution in Boston with a complex and diverse Lab Animal Medicine program. This role will be part of a centralized department that is tasked with providing facilities, services, and information to facilitate effective research using laboratory animals at the institution.

The Veterinary Technician is responsible for monitoring health and providing clinical care to laboratory animals. Great opportunity to join a well-respected and well-trained staff. The department has consistently had low turnover and everyone is encouraged to develop their career through certifications and/or participation in industry events.

Qualified candidates will have an AS degree or higher (BS preferred) in Veterinary Sciences with 1+ year of experience in a lab animal medicine environment. Entry-level candidates with only Internship experience or non-degreed candidates with appropriate lab animal medicine experience will also be considered. AALAS certifications recommended.

Must be authorized to work in the US indefinitely to be considered.  This role will be based in  Boston, MA. Unfortunately, no relocation assistance is available at this time.
