Our client is a small, growing CRO in the suburbs of Boston/Cambridge and they are seeking experienced Vet Techs to join support lab animal medicne and surgical research activities.  These are full-time, permanent roles and the Hiring Manager has the flexibility to consider profiles ranging from junior to senior individual contributors. 

The main function of this role is to support the Veterinary Services group for a variety of clients and surgical research studies, using both small and large animal models.  

The main function of this role is monitoring animal health and providing clinical care to laboratory animals.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to;
•  Animal Care and Health monitoring for both large and small animals
•  Providing pre-and post operative care
•  Administer and monitor anesthesia

Qualified candidates will have an AS degree or higher (BS preferred) in Veterinary Sciences with 1+ year of experience in a lab animal medicine environment. Entry-level candidates with only internship experience or non-degreed candidates with appropriate lab animal medicine experience will also be considered. AALAS certifications welcome and preferred.

Must be authorized to work in the US indefinitely to be considered.  This role will be based in the suburbs of Cambridge/Boston, MA. Unfortunately, no relocation assistance is available at this time. The main function of this role is to support the Veterinary Services group for a variety of clients and surgical research studies, using both small and large animal models.  

Responsibilities include but are not limited to;
•  Dosing, blood/tissue collection, and necropsy
•  Pre-, peri-, and post-operative care of animals
•  Set-up and administration of anesthesia
•  Generate and submit data in accordance with GLP guidelines.

Qualified candidates will have a HS degree or higher (BS degree or higher preferred).  AALAS certifications at ALAT or higher also preferred.  SRS and SRT certifications also welcome.

Experienced lab animal medicine role in surgical research facility is now open at one of the top biomedical research institutions in Boston! If you have a passion for working with animals in support of biomedical research in multiple fields like neuroscience, cardiology, oncology, rare disease, etc. and are looking to get your foot in the door with one of the best Lab Animal Medicine programs in New England, then you need to send a resume now before they fill this position. This position requires previous experience with anesthesia and surgical support.

The main function of this role is to provide technical assistance/support with anesthesia and surgical procedures for a variety of laboratory animals, mostly large animals like pigs, sheep, rabbits, etc.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Assist veterinarians or investigators in various surgeries and treatment protocols

• Prepare and sterilize surgery packs

• Administer medications and provide pre/peri/post-surgical monitoring

• Sanitation of the facilities and maintenance of associated sterile equipment.

Qualifications include but are not limited to:

• Associate's Degree or higher in Veterinary Science/Technology, Animal Science, or related field

• Minimum of 2+ years of related experience in clinical/private practice or research settings

• Ability to lift up to 50lbs with or without accommodations

• Certifications are a plus such as: ALAT, LAT, LATg, SRS, or SRT
