Hot, new start-up backed by well-known Venture Firm here in the Greater Boston Area is growing!  They are looking to bring on board a Sr. Program Manager will play an important role in supporting development teams to bring new compounds to market.  SPM will work closely with internal cross-functional teams to ensure clarity of strategy, to manage specific projects/programs, and to facilitate communication across all parties.   The ideal candidate will have a scientific background and experience with discovery, clinical, and commercial stage development.  This role is highly cross-functional, and may involve close interaction with external partners.  Other responsibilities include but not limited to:

  • Serve as project/program manager for one or more development teams, providing leadership, coordination, and cross-functional communication to enable teams to meet goals
  • Work with project leads and project teams to identify key risks, timeline and resource constraints, and develop mitigation plans
  • Work with project leads to facilitate decision making and resolve conflicts
  • Effectively communicate program strategy, status, critical path activity timing, resource requirements, and related issues and/or risks, both internally and to partners, as appropriate
  • Effectively manage team meetings by developing agendas, defining and communicating meeting objectives, capturing and disseminating meeting outcomes/information/minutes/action items, and following up on critical action items
  • Facilitate the financial planning process, integrating inputs from functions and project teams into financial plans in collaboration with the Financial Planning & Analysis department
  • Help to create and improve Program Management tools and best practices
  • Organize events to recognize team accomplishments
Requirements:

  • BS degree or higher AND
  • 6+ years of industry experience in Biotechnology, Pharmaceutical, or other Healthcare related fields AND
  • 3+  years of experience in a drug development Project Management role
  • Experience in leading cross-functional teams
  • Development knowledge with basic to strong understanding of functions relevant to the position, including:   Research, Pre-Clinical, Clinical, Manufacturing & Operations, Commercial, and Regulatory
  • Utilization of Project Management tools, methodologies, practices, and infrastructure, as related to the Biopharmaceutical industry
  • Familiarity with the Project Management principles and practices

Our client is one of the top gene therapy companies here in the Cambridge/Boston area and are seeking a Scientist (BS, MS, or PhD) experienced in T cell biology and/or adoptive T cell therapy to join their discovery group in Cambridge. 

The main function of this role is to identify promising analytic technologies, research novel marker discovery, and develop analytical strategies for characterization of drug product.  Those with leadership experience also welcome as there is potential to lead Associate Scientist in the lab as well. 

Responsibilities include but are not limited to;
•  Defining and driving the scientific strategy for characterizing CART and HSC autologous cell therapy products
•  Identification of biomarkers predictive of manufacturing and clinical success of autologous cell therapy
•  Serve as point person for reviewing and summarizing data via technical reports and presenting scientific data to leadership

Formal descriptions can be supplied for interested candidates. 

Qualified candidates will have a BS with 10+, MS with 7+ or PhD with 0-5 years of experience in T cell biology and/or adoptive T cell therapy.  Must also have experience in the application of state of the art technologies for cellular analysis (FACS, CyTOF and/or mass cytometry).  Experience with similar novel biomarker discovery tools such as nanostring, high-throughput FACS, and single cell assays (single cell RNAseq, single cell functional assays) are also welcome. 

Must be authorized to work in the US indefinitely to be considered and must be commutable to the Cambridge area or able to relocate with very limited assistance.

Sr. Scientist will be responsible for the direction and execution of multiple projects, including program design, assay development, in-vitro proof-of-concept and in vivo translational studies. We are searching for enthusiastic, innovative and highly motivated individuals who are comfortable working in a fast-paced entrepreneurial environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead one or more of the Transcription Lock programs
  • Design and execution of experimental assays, appropriate model systems, in vitro and in vivo studies
