Our client is one of the top gene therapy companies here in the Cambridge/Boston area and are seeking an experienced Sr. Associate Scientist (BS/MS level)to join their discovery group in Cambridge.

The main function of this role is to support analytical characterization of cellular drug products via flow cytometry.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to;
•  Use flow cytometry and other immunological assays to characterize human primary cells
•  Develop flow cytometry panels and standards to characterize primary cells 
•  FACS-sort cells for downstream colony forming assays and RT-PCR 
•  Provide input on development of new methods, techniques and evaluation criteria

Formal descriptions can be supplied for interested candidates. 

Qualified candidates will have a BS or MS in a Life Science and at least 5+ years of industry experience and experience with FACS staining and various types of flow cytometers; experience using the BD LSR2/Fortessa, Miltenyi MACSQuant, and Sony SH800 is highly favorable.  Also seeking experience with designing and optimizing multi-color flow cytometry panels and/or experience with BD Diva and FlowJo software.

Must be authorized to work in the US indefinitely to be considered and must be commutable to the Cambridge area or able to relocate with very limited assistance.

The candidate must be independent and motivated, and able to efficiently lead teams and complete multiple projects. Other responsibilities include:

  • Design and develop computational algorithms that support the Transcriptional Lock approach
  • Data analysis and integration into refinements of the algorithm.

Requirements:

  • PhD or equivalent in biological sciences or computational biology with experience in transcriptional analysis

Sr. Scientist will be responsible for the direction and execution of multiple projects, including program design, assay development, in-vitro proof-of-concept and in vivo translational studies. Will be responsible for the direction and execution of multiple projects, including program design, assay development, in-vitro proof-of-concept and in vivo translational studies.

Requirements:

  • PhD or equivalent in biological sciences with 10+ years of industry experience and 5+ years of people management experience. 
  • Demonstrated expertise in molecular biology/chromatin research (success and contribution to the field, and a focus in epigenetics, oncology, immuno-oncology and/or clinical biomarker development).
  • Very strong communication and partnering skills.
  • CRO and research collaboration management experience.
